In the Kitchen - Scrambled Eggs

When asked whether they wanted to make their own scrambled eggs, the answer was a resounding "yes". So we bundled them into the kitchen and gave them each an apron ... short of two so we'll have to put that in our project list.

With a bowl and two eggs each, the girls started cracking. Then they added milk, a pinch of salt. After that they were armed with a form and they started beating their eggs.

When the beating is done, they all lined up for their turn at the pan. Of course, they were told that they cannot touch the pan but only hold the handle. They melted butter in the pan and in went the eggs. While Elie was cooking hers, she saw Keia's finished scrambled egg and she almost abandoned hers and chased after Keia's eggs. Of course, Keia would have none of it.

When they finished cooking the scrambled eggs, they enjoyed eating it all up as well.

The girls will get a badge / drawing on their very own apron once they have mastered the dish. This is to be done by cooking it for someone in their family and getting their endorsement.

But first, we have to make the apron. Much looked forward project, I must say.

  2. This is such a wonderful idea...getting them to prepare their own food. Many a times I'm so into ensuring they have food on the table but seldom involving them in the cooking process. Thanks for the idea.
